This is what "Globalize the Intifada" means
Progressives are breeding a base of Luigi Mangiones and Elias Rodriguezes. The slogan isn’t just rhetoric—it’s become a justification for real-world violence against Jews.
“What did you think globalize the intifada meant? vibes? papers? essays?”
Some of us who live habitually online have become all too familiar with the question above, almost becoming a meme-like saying among those who try to justify or explain the rising levels of antisemitic and anti-Israel sentiment across the Western world.
It was first used on X to explain away the actions of Hamas in Israel on October 7 in 2023, and continues to live on each time pro-Palestinians violently protest Israel and Jews. To some, it justified violence and intimidation. It ‘offers context’ to the vitriol spat at Jews in the diaspora and provided an excuse to express their deeply ingrained antisemitic views.
And as we can see, it isn’t just rhetoric—it’s become a justification for real-world violence against Jews.
Today, the streets of Washington, DC, saw the intifada globalized once again: this time in the cold-blooded murder of Israeli Embassy workers Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, who were brutally shot and killed by 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez outside the Jewish Museum.
And it wasn’t a random act. Of course it wasn’t.
According to The Times of Israel, “Rodriguez attended a 2017 protest outside the home of then-Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel as a member of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, according to the group’s Liberation newspaper.”
Yesterday, the Marxist-Leninist group urged followers online to sign a pledge aimed at stopping Israel’s “genocide” against Palestinians. It comes days after media outlets like the BBC and NBC News had spread the unfounded “14,000 starving babies in 48 hours” hoax. They offered corrections, but not until millions of people around the world had seen the blood libel against the State of Israel.
It is becoming increasingly clear that Democrats in America are breeding a base of Luigi Mangiones and Elias Rodriguezes - young, loner men who commit cold-blooded murder on America’s streets in the name of some political or ideological cause.
In other words, the progressive cause is literally breeding domestic terrorists in the United States.
And now, a young Jewish couple preparing to become engaged has been stolen from the world, all in the name of “Free Palestine”. Rodriguez himself confirmed this to be true as he yelled it when he was taken into custody. His agenda was to ‘globalize the intifada’, and in his mind and the minds of millions, he was now one step closer to achieving his goal.
For 18 months, Jews expressed concern for these constant chants in the streets and on college campuses, but we were dismissed. When concerns of antisemitism were inexplicably partnered with ‘Islamophobia’ by our world leaders, our fears were further undermined.
And today, we are seeing the consequences of our anxieties ignored: more dead Jews, more calls for violence in the name of anti-Israel/pro-Hamas sentiment, a world with more intifadas.
Antisemitism has rotted part of progressive American society and normalized terrorism among its youth. If it cannot reverse this trend soon, then I’m afraid it is too late.
